Wondering what it takes to become a better brand?
Okay, so you might have developed your brand image, web links, connections, etc., but then it happens.... You realize something is not quite right. You need to fix something and you want to figure out how. Sometimes you need some minor tweaking, but sometimes you need a complete rebranding.
I myself am discovering this need within my own business. Up until now I had developed a mompreneur grant & blog that fell within my Happy and Healthy Mom site. However, there is a noticeable disconnect between the happy and healthy mom target audience and the mompreneur audience. Being that I am currently planning the Super Mompreneur Conference & Expo, I decided that it really is necessary for me to separate the two and put the mompreneur stuff into Super Mompreneur and make it my sister site. This way, when people go to happy and healthy mom, they know it is only about new & expecting moms. "Designed by moms for new & expecting moms" has become a new tagline that identifies the target population and still includes that mompreneur reference without it taking over the site.
Now I have to go through the tedious practice of transferring my articles and grant stuff to the other site, as well as setting up the redirecting links. Maybe this was something I should've done before getting so heavily into content, but I did not have the resources or know-how. I am hoping that I can help others avoid this mistake or handle the same mistake within their own businesses. Everything has been a growing & transforming experience for me. I am hoping that by rebranding the mompreneur side of me, I will open up both businesses for expansion rather than setting up for failure by trying to squeeze two concepts into one.
Has anyone else had a rebranding experience or do you think you might need one?
